Karen Basian
Karen Basian is a Principal of Firefly Advisory Services a Strategy Consulting and Financial Advisory firm. Ms. Basian is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in strategy, operations and finance. Her background covers a broad set of industries including consumer products, manufacturing and business services. Ms. Basian is on the boards of Stonehouse Building Products, LLC and Glowpoint, Inc. (GLOW). Ms. Basian began her career as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (specializing in International Tax) and later joined Bain & Company as a strategy consultant, where she remained for six years. She then joined Hostess Frito-Lay / PepsiCo in strategy and finance where she spent five years. Ms. Basian went on to lead 724 Solutions as CFO where she was responsible for the firm's capital raising efforts including its IPO, until leaving in 2004 to form Firefly Advisory Services. She received an Honors B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada and an M.B.A. from IMEDE in Lausanne, Switzerland.
